Help is available to low- and moderate-income individuals and families who want to purchase their first home.  The Cities of Garden Grove and Westminster offer free home buyer information workshops, loans to help with your down payment and closing costs, access to affordable home mortgages, and other tools to help you achieve the dream of home ownership.

NEW PROGRAM STARTS IN 2009! The Cities of Garden Grove and Westminster have joined forces in anticipation of receiving new Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds. Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds are designed to help low- and moderate-income individuals and families purchase a home that has been foreclosed (an "REO" property). If the Cities receive NSP funds, the new program will provide down payment assistance. More details will follow if and when NSP funding is received.

FUNDING AND PROGRAM UPDATE:  As of June 21 2009 we are still waiting for the State of California to release the funds to the Cities of Garden Grove and Westminster.  We reasonably expect the program to have funds Summer 2009 (July or August).  Once the funds are released, qualified buyers will be able to receive up to $40,000 in down payment assistance through a 30 year, deferred repayment loan that has zero (0%) interest charges.  New workshop dates have been set for July and August 2009.  Check this Website for details regarding dates, times and location.
